About the therapeutic work.

It began with the feeling that I experienced in the dance studio and on stage. Dance was the language in which I could authentically express myself and feel the most free. Having experienced the transformative power of dance in my own life, in my work I try to help people find the connection between the body, mind and spirit. Using movement, I aid others in discovering their greatest sense of self. As an empathetic and collaborative guide believing in each individual’s power of self-healing, I illuminate a space for one to step into their own light and embark on a transformative journey into a more whole, balanced and integrated self.

About me.

I am a professional dancer and a board certified dance/movement psychotherapist residing in New York City. At a very young age, I fell in love with the incredible freedom of artistic and emotional expression through dance and have not stopped dancing since. With nearly two decades of professional dance experience around the world, I have had the honor of dancing for such notable choreographers as Noemie LaFrance, Nai-Ni Chen Dance, KDNY Dance, Sal LaRussa Dance Theatre, Daniela Hoff Dance, Cirquetacular Productions and the World of Disney, NYC, among others. I continue to dance professionally for Robin Becker Dance and Born Dancing, Inc., a company where dancers of all ages and abilities share the stage.

My work as a professional dancer – in particular, my work with Robin Becker Dance – has profoundly shaped and informed my professional career as a dance/movement psychotherapist. Having performed and helped create Robin Becker’s Into Sunlight, where the theme of the trauma of war is so deeply and artfully explored, I was inspired to use my innate knowledge of the power of movement to begin a journey into dance/movement therapy.

As a dance/movement psychotherapist, I have had the opportunity to bring the healing aspects of movement to diverse populations throughout the boroughs of New York City. As a licensed creative arts therapist, I have clinical experience working in inpatient acute psychiatric care and outpatient mental health care working with individuals suffering from mental illnesses and addictions; rehabilitation and nursing homes with individuals suffering from neurocognitive disorders, dementia and Alzheimer’s; not-for-profits with victims of domestic violence and complex traumas, marginalized communities, and incarcerated individuals.
